Doxycycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic used for the treatment of infections such as Lyme disease, Chlamydia, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Marquis® (ponazuril) Antiprotozoal Oral Paste comes in a ready-to-use syringe containing 127 grams of paste. Each gram of paste contains 150 mg of ponazuril (15% w/w) an anticoccidial (antiprotozoal) compound useful against several genera of the phylum Apicomplexa. One syringe barrel of Marquis contains enough paste to treat one (1) 1,200 lb (544 kg) horse for seven (7) days, at a dose rate of 5 mg/kg (2.27 mg/lb) body weight. The plunger contains a dosage ring calibrated for a dose rate of 5 mg/kg (2.27 mg/lb) body weight and marked for horse weight from 600 to 1,200 lbs (272 to 544 kg).

Metronidazole is an antibiotic that is effective in treating anaerobic and protozoal infections. It is also used prophylactically after colic or other abdominal surgery when mixed bacterial infections are a risk. Tablets may be crushed and added to feed. (Manufacturer – Barr)

Naxcel Sterile Powder (ceftiofur sodium) is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin anti-biotic indicated for the treatment of equine respiratory infections, usually associated with Streptococcus zooepidemicus. Please remember Naxcel requires reconstitution prior to administration.

Sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim ds (smz tmp ds) is a broad spectrum antibiotic used to treat respiratory, urinary tract, skin or gastrointestinal infections and other conditions. It is available as a scored tablet. NOT RECOMMENDED for use in pregnant or nursing animals. Leave plenty of water for animal to drink.

Tucoprim® Powder by Pfizer is used when control of bacterial infections is required during treatment of acute strangles, respiratory tract infections, acute urogenital infections, wound infections and abscesses. Contains trimethoprim and sulfadiazine.
